Kathleen
Kelley-
Haverty
Well, of course Kathleen’s favorite color would be green!
Kelley is her maiden name and in addition to growing up with three
sisters, she says that she grew up in a house where everything was
green—Kelly green.
Kathleen has a husband and a cat, and she also
has a liberal arts degree. But when the perfect job in publishing
failed to materialize, she followed her sister’s suggestion
and took a job behind the big front desk at Dr. Coppe’s office.
It didn’t take her long to learn that she loved dentistry,
as well as the children who come walking and skipping through the
office door. While continuing to work for Dr. Coppe part-time, Kathleen
entered Mt. Ida College and began studying to be a dental hygienist.
She is very close to graduating but expects to continue working
right in the office.
“Don’t over-prepare your child for
the dental experience,” is the best advice Kathleen has for
parents.
And to children, she would stress that visiting
the dentist is fun. “I have fourteen nieces and nephews,”
she says, “ and one niece is a severe dental-phobe, but we
were able to get even this child admit that it is fun to come to
Dr. Coppe’s”
Kathleen is a season ticket holder with the New
England Revolutions and she freely admits: “I am a soccer
nut.”
