Introducing Your Child To Pediatric
Dentistry
Q: When should I schedule my child’s first appointment?
A; Dr. Coppe recommends that your child see a dentist after his
/her third birthday. No matter how young your child is, if you feel
something does not look right, call our office for an appointment.
Q: How often should I schedule appointments for my child?
A: Taking care of your child’s teeth is a worthwhile commitment.
Make sure your child sees a pediatric dentist every six months for
an oral examination, cleaning and fluoride treatment. We want to
keep your child’s smile healthy for a lifetime.
Q: How should I prepare my child for his/her first visit to your
office?
A: Some preparation is important, so we’ve written an entire
page on this subject. Please see “What Should I Tell My Child
About The Dentist.”
Q: If my child has allergies, should I do anything special?
A: It is important to discuss your child’s allergies and all
aspects of your child's health with Dr. Coppe or with the hygienist.
We like to determine at the outset if your child could possibly
be allergic to something in our office or to some of the materials
we use.
Q: Do you accept dental insurance?
A: Please see our page called About Insurance.
This page will provide a lot of answers to your questions, but if
you still have questions, please call or e-mail us.
